Tour around Cambrils

April 16th, 2009

After Easter, the  e-zine 19 offers you a relaxed outlet in Cambrils. In the morning you can take a bike ride by the seaside and eat at Mas Gallau, a restaurant where the kids can see how the meat is cooked. In the afternoon, the children can help the guardian of stories to return the characters from classic stories to their book during the puppet show El Gran Guirigall. And if you prefer to spend the day in the field, go to Mas de Teret in el Catllar. You can ride on a horse, try to hit the target with a bow, do Gymkhanas or just enjoy the farm animals and a good family meal.

And as we approach the feast of Sant Jordi, Tarragona’s Abacus gives us this weekend the chance to enjoy with the whole family the representations of the legend, meet guest artists and do workshops of book points. What can we do with the kids if it rains?

April 10th, 2009

Rainy days … ¿where can we go with the kids? Now that we have some days off, it seems that the bad weather is not letting us enjoy of them with the children. Do not worry … We have made a small selection (taken from the published e-zines) with sites where you can go with children in the province of Tarragona and have a good time even though the weather is bad.

- Glass Museum of Vimbodí (Conca de Barberà) next to Paco’s glass furnace in Vimbodí and Poblet you won’t feel cold and you will discover how the silicon is converted into glass.

- The Mine of Bellmunt del Priorat (Priorat) put the helmet on and begin to descent 35 meters underground.

- Cave of the Font Major (Espluga Francolí, Conca de Barberà): Put the neoprene on and live an adventure along the river Francolí from inside the cave.

- Monastery of Santes Creus: discover the life of sobriety of the Cistercian monks. A fantastic audio-visual and theatrical spectacle.

And if you are looking for handy crafts, interactive games for the computer or recipes to prepare with the kids, take a look at our website’s advanced search and search for “link”. You’ll find a lot of games, stories and educational activities that can entertain children for a long time.

And if you enjoy the shows, remember that every week we propose a new show that usually takes place inside a theatre.

Cultural tourism with children

April 8th, 2009

In the e-zine 18 we have prepared a series of activities with a cultural touch. What about spending a whole day in the Priorat? Our itinerary will take you to the site where the Battle of the Ebro was prepared. In the trenches of the Republican in Figuera children will relive history. And if you have lunch at the picnic area of Sant Pau or at the  Fonda La Figuera, you will have time to go Cornudella of Montsant. On Saturday April 11 2009 at 17:00 you will enjoy a good show of curious artifacts rolling down the village streets.

And if you prefer dramatized cultural visits, we have two very good proposals. In Alcanar the Iberian priestess Aunis gives life to the Iberian settlement of Moleta Remedy. She explains the rituals and tasks of the town as they were 2600 years ago. And since it’s Easter, what do you think of forming part of the  procession of Jesus and his apostles in Vilaba of the Arches and live with them the last days of Christ’s life? A few proposals so that the children are able to discover the history in a different and very visual way.

And for those who want their children to practice a little what they have learnt at school, we recommend the website City 17. A website with sheets of letters and numbers for the youngest and interesting questions for the ones who are a little older.

Six proposals to spend Easter in family. Remember that you can find other activities, excursions and restaurants at the advanced search of ExploraTgn.cat. And if you haven’t subscribed yet, do not waste time and become a member of the network. This way always have a plan for the weekend.

At the E-ZINE 17 we give you some tips to enjoy the jazz with your family. And at the end, what about having a paella with views of the boats from the marina? It is possible in the restaurant Mesón del Mar in Tarragona. If you prefer to enjoy the last “calçots” in a place where children can spend a great time go to the Zoo of Valls. In addition to a good home-cooked meal, you can see the most bizarre specimens. And since it seems to be a gourmet weekend, what about tasting the xató? Cunit organizes a very curious one with a medieval set. Children can dress up and learn the crafts of traditional artisans.

And if you prefer walking through the woods and have a picnic with barbecue, visit the corner of the Corretja at the Ports.  A place where all senses will enjoy.
