The last days have been quite long with just a little sleep. But we all are very happy. The press has given us a nice welcome. We have received a great number of e-mails of internauts congratulating us because of the initiative. The curves which indicate the number of visitors at google analytics do not stop rising. The subscribers increase each minutes….

And us, we haven’t stoped working. Javier and Alfredo continue with the programming to optimize all the functions of the website, activate new ones like the sending of proposals or the searcher. Silvia watches from very near so that her design gets implemented. And we are already preparing the E-Zine nr.1. And what about you? Have you prepared the rucksack to enjoy of your weekend?

Other than the time limit, it’s the entrepreneurial wheel which is pushing us. At this moment we are not totally anonymous anymore. We have been for about two and a half months on the net, we’ve got the media attention and we started to contact some entities. So, the first requests of entities interested in advertising on our web start to appear, entrepreneurial magazines start contacting us to explain our start-up experience…. The time has really come to have our own VAT number, a way of demonstrating our identity as a company and not anymore as a project. Formalities, contracts, shareholding… all necessary elements that our final user will not perceive, but compulsory if we want to make the work well made and especially in a professional way. So, this is what is occupying us the last days.

First school day. For most people it means returning to normality. For me it has been an avalanche of mothers with questions, proposals, encouraging words… and many concrete requests to pay attention to. I am class delegated of the parents’ school association, so this is what usually happens when school starts again. I do not complain, since ExploraTgn.cat has appeared thanks to my experience with this association and the blog I created last year as a fast communication tool for the parents of childhood education at school.

Sílvia, who lately is working on the design of ExploraTgn.cat’s image, asked some days ago questions as ‘what do you want people to think of the web at the first look‘, or ‘what do you want to transmit with the graphical image’. It was very clear to me, so I explained it to her. Today, after receiving the avalanche of requests, often in a hurry and in a telegraphic way, because everybody was in a rush to go to work, I have reaffirmed the idea.

Few of us have time to play with. ExploraTgn.cat has to be a tool that resolves your weekend in a few minutes. Most of us work already a lot during the week and are not happy to add a few hours in front of the computer, attempting to choose an interesting weekend family plan of the large range of activities offered. Therefore, we have to offer a pack with everything included, so you it will free you from looking for a restaurant in one place, a compatible route in an other and moreover, check the weather information on a third web (so that you know if you need to take with you jackets or not). It has to be arranged with one look and in a pair of clicks. It has to be useful, simple and offer fast consulting; you must be able to print it easily and put it in your pocket.

We won’t achieve this reloading the e-zine with a pyrotechnic design, full of flash applications and pop-ups, with twisted typographies that only complicate the work, which is to find fast and easily what we search. Do we renounce to the design? On the contrary! We precisely need an excellent design, and this is Silvia’s task. We want a fresh, serious and professional image with a clear reference to the children, but without being childish, fulfilling at the same time all requirements that we have brought up. A real challenge.

A Saturday in February. (I do not even remember the exact day). I search on the internet for a place to go near home with the children. I stay about two hours in front of the computer and in the end I do not find anything and go to the grandparents.

That week I decide to remediate this. I track down the net again searching for tools that help plan a weekend with children. Even though I do not find much of a thing for the region of Tarragona, I have enough material to publish one new post at “el pati dels petits”, a bloc of the parents of my son’s school.

By surprise, it becomes one of the most visited posts. And slowly the pieces start to fit. What was a post, tuned into a project and a business plan. After a while it becomes a serious thing and I present it to the “Women entrepreneurship Awards” of the Regional Government. A month and a half later, I find myself in Valls picking up the recognition to the best project of women until 30 years. The following day: a photo in the Tarragona’s Newspaper and the digital news. ExploraTgn.cat is born!
