Cultural tourism with children

April 8th, 2009

In the e-zine 18 we have prepared a series of activities with a cultural touch. What about spending a whole day in the Priorat? Our itinerary will take you to the site where the Battle of the Ebro was prepared. In the trenches of the Republican in Figuera children will relive history. And if you have lunch at the picnic area of Sant Pau or at the  Fonda La Figuera, you will have time to go Cornudella of Montsant. On Saturday April 11 2009 at 17:00 you will enjoy a good show of curious artifacts rolling down the village streets.

And if you prefer dramatized cultural visits, we have two very good proposals. In Alcanar the Iberian priestess Aunis gives life to the Iberian settlement of Moleta Remedy. She explains the rituals and tasks of the town as they were 2600 years ago. And since it’s Easter, what do you think of forming part of the  procession of Jesus and his apostles in Vilaba of the Arches and live with them the last days of Christ’s life? A few proposals so that the children are able to discover the history in a different and very visual way.

And for those who want their children to practice a little what they have learnt at school, we recommend the website City 17. A website with sheets of letters and numbers for the youngest and interesting questions for the ones who are a little older.

Six proposals to spend Easter in family. Remember that you can find other activities, excursions and restaurants at the advanced search of ExploraTgn.cat. And if you haven’t subscribed yet, do not waste time and become a member of the network. This way always have a plan for the weekend.

And as usual, we invite you to continue enjoying the region and have lunch in Poboleda, at the restaurant Populetus. But if you are not a gymkhana person, we can take you to the past and relive the world of the Iberians in the Iberian Citadel of Calafell and, of at the same time, visit the sheep that were born some weeks ago. And if you like the animals, take note of the Tres Tombs meeting in El Vendrell. You will be able to see coaches and horses at tutti pleni.

If it rains again, do not suffer, you will be able to have fun with the younger ones at the Theater Fortuny in Reus, with the show Corda i descorda. And the older ones are invited to the triplets courtyard, a website full of games to take consiousness o recycling, etc…

This week we propose in our E-ZINE nr. 7 an excursion for the younger ones. They will discover the nature following the Gaià river until its mouth in the sea. A short, but very amusing itinerary. And what would be the nature without the bees? Thanks to their travel from flower to flower we have fruits. How is this possible? You will discover it in El Perelló. The beekeepers of Mel Muria open their doors and accompany you until the field where the bees graze. And since you are in the El Perelló, you can have lunch at Censals, where you will be able to enjoy of a family restaurant.

For those that are not afraid of the agglomerations, we have another gastronomic exit. And to find magic you have to go until Ulldecona, where the Magician Lari has some fantastic tricks. And if you prefer to spend the winter afternoons at home, you can have a look at the KOMBAI, where you will find handycrafts with recycled materials.

Among parties, family lunches, gifts and a lot of rain, we have gone out again todiscover some nice places of the Camp de Tarragona and the Terres del Ebro to prepare the first E-ZINE of 2009. Here we present you the E-ZINE nr. 5.

This time we have gone until Flix, very well accompanied. Helena and Albert, subscribers of ExploraTgn.cat, have shown us with a lot of pride the most curious corners of their village near the Ebro river. You will find some of these corners in the route that we propose you, with the storks of the Sebes Nature park as protagonists. We are in period of matching and, if you have luck, you will be able even to enjoy the courtship of these birds of more than two meters!

If you like the horses you have an appointment in Valls. This weekend the city gives the starshot  to the celebrations of the Tres Tombs all over Catalonia. And, naturally, if you are in Valls you have to taste some good calçots. If we have to believe the owner of the Masia Bou, which has the guarantee of four generations of experts, the first public calçotades were born in his restaurant.

And for those that during these holidays have had to reply too many questions, like where do we come from, why are there white men and black men, or how were the first instruments made, we have two proposals to help you out. The show “the instruments of the world” in the auditorium of Caixa Tarragona and the workshop “the prehistory… does it sound familiar”? ABACUS Tarragona will give you some clues.

And if after so many free days you think that the children need to practice in a funny way what they have learned at school, you have the website Vedoque with many educational resources for children from 4 to 12 years.

As you see, we come back with a lot of energy and full of new proposals!

Enjoy 2009!

You leave the city in in about half an hour you are in the middle of the mountain enjoying of some incredible panoramic views. As you will see, the route (this time by car even though we propose you a small itinerary to pull the legs) will bring you to l’Argentera  and the reservoir of Riudecanyes. On your way you will find the restaurant Cunirri, where you will be received with a warm village welcome.

And if you are still missing a figure of the crib, you can have a look at Valls’ Christmas market, which guarantees you your kids entretainment with the birds and horse exposition. But if you prefer some warmer places, we have two other proposals: next to the oven of the glassmaker Paco in Vimbodí and Poblet you will not pass even bit of cold at all and you will even discover how the silicon is converted into glass. And if you like the subject of the professions, bring the children to Ai la Farina show, at the  auditorium of Caixa Tarragona; the children will learn with the puppets to how make the bread.

And before going to sleep, a story. The link of the week proposes you an alternative way to explain the stories through “A hand of stories”.
