About the place:
Have you ever been in a bunker of artillery? Just entering the bunker of l'Ametlla de Mar, a virtual soldier will welcome you encouraging you to go inside as fast as possible. A threatening sound accompanies you through the corridors and rooms of the bunker where until 1937 some soldiers stayed in order to protect the coasts of a possible disembarkment of the National side coming from Mallorca. Even though "the Fortifications" where abandoned quite soon, because the attack finally came by land at the Ebro Regions, the people of l'Ametlla de Mar created a special bond with the soldiers. This is the story that you will discover while experimenting a return in time for some instants.
A very different way to approach the Spanish Civil War.

The starting point of the visit to the bunker "The Fortifications" will be the Municipal Office of Tourism of l'Ametlla de Mar, next to the train station (Av. Amistat, s/n). The Fortifications are located at the Port de l’Estany, approximately 3 km of the village and next to the beach and natural port of L’Estany. You’ll follow the guide with your own car.
Previous booking is needed. Visits can be arranged in Catalan, Spanish , English and French.
