About the place:
Have you ever been in a complete dark place with the sound of the river running at full speed? If your kids are adventurers, put on the neoprene suit, a helmet and take a carbide light to discover the deepest galleries of the Cova de la Font Major at l’Espluga de Francolí. In groups of maximum 15 persons, you will follow the underground river upwards along 900 meters until the Room of the well where we will discover what the real darkness is!
The adventure starts with the attempt to put on the neoprene, which for those that are not used to it, is a very complicated task. Once the suit fits you, you will discover the birth of the Francolí river at the same time that you the neoprene suits are not waterproof. Once our body has warmed up the water, you’ll be prepared to start scrolling in strange postures to see the Cave. At the Iberian cemetery, the water adventure starts. You will find complex rocky formations created by the river, pieces of pottery of more than 3.000 years old and a cream of mud that will make you a little younger.
An unforgettable experience for the oldest children (from 8 years) and you.
Timetable:
The expeditions can be made from Monday to Sunday at any time with previous booking. You only have to take into account that groups of minimu 7 and maximum 15 persons will be created.

Next to the parking place, on the other side of the river, you’ll find a picnic area with tables, a potable water source and a play zone for the youngest.

Material: you have to bring some old sport shoes and a bath suit, and a towel, soap and a comb to have a shower once the adventure finishes.
Temperature: in the cave the temperature is the same all year: 14ºC. The temperature of the water can be between 9º and 11ºC depending on the period of the year. In the autumn and winter the underground river has a lot of water and the adventure is more interesting.
Duration: from 3 to 4 hours (1,5 to 2 hours in the cave).
