About the place:

There are many stories of knights, but have you ever been in a castle where you follow clues to discover the history of the Templars? And, of course, you’ll follow their footsteps climbing the tower by the narrow spiral staircases.

The access to the entrance of the castle of Miravet makes a sharp curve.  It is so pronounced that this turn complicates the attack on horseback. Imagine galloping up to the castle and suddenly find yourself with the bend ... you can be sure that, besides being a funnel, the majority of riders fell from their horse at this point. The Templars, monks knights who take up arms to protect the Christians while conquering Jerusalem in the 12th Century SXII, had to defend Miravet on Christian territory from the Muslims.

Before entering the church, take a look at the joints of the stones: some have a red and black line that makes contrast with the white stones. These colours represent the Templars? White, the colours of their cloths, is the symbol of purity. The red of martyrdom can be found at their cross. And the brown colour of bravery was used at the tunic of the Templars who had to fight.

Take a look at the crosses on the walls of the church? The four equal sides represent the four Evangelists, the four seasons, the four elements (Fire, Water, Air and Earth) and the four cardinal points.

A lot of details that take you to medieval times!
