The activity: Reconstruct a dry stone wall
Pedagogic/didactic activities

La Vilella Alta, Priorat
Address:
In front of the Mayer's house
Telephone:
+34 977 827 310
Suitable age:
From 8 onwards
About the place:
Our landscape is full of banks, dry stone walls built by farmers to create benches where they cultivate. It's amazing how these structures are made entirely of stone without the help of any bonding material. They just fit thanks to the skill of the builders who put them one by one.
What about discovering the trick to set the stones so that they do not fall? Prepare yourselves to use picks and shovels to clear the ground, and sledgehammers to break down the decks and rock hammers to tweak some stones. With the help of the teacher 'marger' Josep M. Masip 'lo Cateri', you will become bank builders for a day.
An activity where the children will discover part of the craft tradition.
Timetable:
Saturday June 6, 2009 from 9:00 to 13:00.
Price:
Free.
