About the place:
Do you want to discover with your family one of the monasteries of the Route of the Cister in Tarragona? In Santes Creus you will find a suitable place. The door opens and in the less than half hour the voice of a monk transports you a few centuries back in time when the monastery was still inhabited. With great décor and the audio-visual, considered among the best in Europe in its genre, you will discover the basis of the order of the Cister; what did they do during the day, when did they pray and how their life was organized.
A different way of explaining the history to the children. After the presentation, will have sufficient guidelines to walk around the monastery and discover the key elements of the sobriety and the austerity by which the monks of the Cister were ruled, and if you have a good look, you will even find their peculiar way of escaping of the procedure and decorating the church somehow ... just have a look at the rose window.
A visit that offers an entertaining way to the lovers of the history and the architecture to get their children in touch with the art.

Only 12 km from the village, you will find in Montferri Rocamora's Castle where you wiil be able to enjoy of a good calçotada or taste some plates prepared in medieval style. And if you prefer to picnic, you’ll find a nice picnic area in Santes Creus with barbecues, tables, fountains, toilets and even a bar.
