Valls, Alt Camp

About the place:

Do you want to see how a pigeon of Philippines welcomes you elegantly just by passing the hand in front of its eyes? This blue dove is a "gura", one of the many animals you can find in the Zoo de Valls. Zebras, antelope of India, ostriches, small hippos, pheasants of all kinds, ... in Ramón's farm you’ll find animal which rarely can be found  in Catalonia and Spain. As a young man, Ramon was fond of collecting strange animals. In summer he traveled with his wife to look for differnt specimens.

When in 2001 the mayor of Valls proposed him to open the fram to the public, it seemed no bad idea. Now the Alt Camp also has a zoo.

In a pleasant environment adapted to access with prams and wheelchairs, children will have a great time chasing peacocks running through the property, imitating the sound of goats or hiding in the tents of the playground.

A place to spend a few hours with your family.

Timetable:

Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 (in the spring and summer). In autumn and winter it closes at 16:00. Closed 25, 26 and December 31.

Price:

Children under 3 years: free of charge. Children between 3 and 15 years: 2€; over 15 years: 4€. Free entry to the premises if eaten in the restaurant.

Lunch tips:

The Zoo has also a restaurant where you can enjoy of the typical “calçot” in a family atmosphere. It’s open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. When the season of ends Calçot end, you’ll find a menu of grilled dishes. Price calçotada menu: 35€; Grilled menu: 25€; Children's menu: 10€.. The restaurant is accessible for wheelchairs.
