Tradition: Salou's Cós Blanc celebration
Local celebrations and traditions

Salou, Tarragonès
Suitable age:
From 3 onwards
What's the story:
If you want to see giants, coaches full of disguised persons and have a bath of confetti, you have an appointment in the Cós Blanc, the winter celebration of Salou.
They say that the most emblematic act of the party, the Cós Blanc, started like a joke among some friends that at some point of the party started to throw with pieces of paper. Nowadays more than 20 tons of confetti are launched away.
The roots of the winter party lay in the celebration of Sant Antoni. The coaches parade full of disguised persons is an heiress of the coaches that the farmers adorned on the day they lead the animals to be blessed.
The winter celebration is also an occasion to return to the tradition. During the workshops of traditional culture, young and old can learn to make a fisherman knot or do the dance of sticks. And the space of entertainment is guaranteed with spring castles and other puppets shows.
A celebration with activities for young and old.
