Tradition: Tarraco Viva: the roman return to Tarragona
Local celebrations and traditions

Tarragona, Tarragonès
Suitable age:
From 3 onwards
What's the story:
Every year during a few days Tarragona relives its roman past with the festival Tarraco Viva. An opportunity for young and old to discover how the Romans lived, dressed and ate.
What about visiting the roman villa of Altafulla accompanied by Caius and Faustina or to witness a roman lunch in Cambrils’ Llosa? Or do you prefer to see how the roman cavalry practices for a fight. You can also enjoy a while throwing coins, play a game of force or puzzle a little at the game playground. And for those who like to participate actively, there is a workshop to make roman shoes and amulets, or learn something about the artisans in the Field of Mars. Or do you prefer to construct an ideal roman city on scale? Your kids can also become small researchers and discover whose bones they have in their hands. You’ll also be able to dress with togas and togas to make it more authentic when following the enigma of Medusa.
Plenty of proposals to discover together with the children some of the episodes of our Roman past. (See photos)
