What's the story:
If you like to recuperate the traditions of the field, do not hesitate to go to Cabra del Camp the first weekend of July. In the era of the Molí de la Vila the cereals are collected as it was done before the mechanization, with a sickle and scythe. In this way sheaves are made, while waiting for the beating in August at the era Ca l’Isabeló, where we find all tools for beating the grain and sorting it out from the spike. You will even see the animal that pulls the roller and the trill.
Dressed in a traditional way with hats, long skirts, patches... the participants finish the day with the traditional breakfast: bread with tomato, salad and tuna.
A funny way to learn about the work in the field before the mechanization.
Timetable:
Sunday July 5th of 2009 (the cutting) and Sunday August 2nd of 2009 (beating) from 8:00 until 10:30.
