About the place:
If you want to taste the calçots, you have to go to the Masia Bou, a restaurant where four generations of the Gatell family have been sustaining the tradition of the calçotada. At the forties of the last century, Josep Gatell, better known as the "Bou” (Ox), invited the visitors to his hostal at the city center of Valls to taste the tender grilled onions. When the bombers started to fly over Valls during the Spanish Civil War, Josep and his wife moved to a farmhouse to the outskirts of the town.
Now, his grandson Josep Maria welcomes you with his son in a restaurant with rustic style where, apart from the calçots, you can taste the Catalan traditional cuisine. And after a good meal, the children can go out to the zone of games placed exactly in front of the main entry of the restaurant.
