About the place:

If you want to enjoy nature and at the same time a charming village, we recommend you to search for the Roca Foradada of Prades (the rock with a hole). Park the car in  the Pau Picasso street in Prades, just before arriving to the small sanctuary of Sant Antoni, which you will find on the right. The itinerary will start here. Immediately you will find a crossroads in which you have to choose the path on your left.  Continue along the sand track that, in a few meters and that gets steeper, becomes a paved way. Immediately on the right you will find the indications of the path that will bring you to the Roca Foradada. Here You’ll find yourself in the forest. If you are taking small children to this excursion, you can make stops, and you’ll find many benches along the road. During the whole itinerary you will see the reddish stone landscape. Some of them have many holes, but do not let them deceive you: we are searching for a rock in the form of an arch. It’s a curious effect of nature caused by the erosion of the stone, which the people of Prades baptized as Roca Foradada. Here you will find an amusement area.

The oldest children can continue the route for another half a kilometre towards the Pikes.  They will have a magnificent panoramic view of the village.

Direction tips:

The starting point is at the hermitage of Sant Antoni in the Pau Picasso street of  Prades (latitude: 41º 18.510'; length: 0º59.511'). In the same street you can park the car. If you bring very small children, you can start the itinerary further along the road. You can go by car until the point where the path starts towards the Roca Foradada (Salvador Dalí street - Latitude: 41º 18.480'; Length: 0º 59.616'), but there is no parking zone.

About the place:

From its beginnings, the village house of grandfather Crispí was a place where people came to search for calmness and new airs for heart and tuberculosis cures. Years later, his grandson Sergi, who had gone to the Pirinees to work as a ski monitor, decided to come back, with Eva, to the red town of Prades - named like this due to the red ashlars of stone on the church and most of the houses’ walls. To continue with the family tradition, in 2004 they opned the house to the public offering 5 rooms, all with an ensuite bathroom.

Cal Crispí is a suitable place for families. In the winter you can play board games around the fire place. In summer you can enjoy the fresh air at the interior courtyard while the small ones entertain themselves without the parents having to worry. The house has two kitchens, one for the customers to use and another where breakfast, which is included in the price, and dinner are prepared. You’ll enjoy a traditional home cooking menu prepared with the local products of the land and the vegetable garden.

For the excursions on foot, on horseback or by bicycle, let yourselves be guided by Sergi and Eva, good connoisseurs of the Prades and Montsant mountains.
